They use the information effectively to help them plan for children’s next steps in their learning. Children make good progress in their learning and development. An effective partnership with parents, including the well-established two-way exchange of information, helps to provide consistency for children’s learning. Children have access to a wide range of stimulating and interesting activities and resources, which helps to promote their active learning well. The well-qualified staff team reviews the success of activities to help them identify how they can improve children’s learning experiences. Children are provided with a safe and secure environment. The staff have a good understanding of how to manage, and minimise, risks for children. It is not yet outstanding because: Although management encourages staff to develop their knowledge, systems used to monitor staff practice do not rigorously check how well they are assessing children. Staff do not always make the best use of every opportunity to encourage children to develop their early literacy and mathematical skills during play activities.
