Summary of key findings for parents
The provision is good • Parents are extremely complimentary about the nursery and the care that their children receive. They say that their children really enjoy attending the nursery and they comment on the ’wonderful’ relationships between staff and their children. • Staff clearly understand how children learn and develop. They provide children with a range of exciting activities and experiences and get actively involved with children’s play. This helps to extend children’s learning and enjoyment and they make good progress in their learning. • Children form strong attachments with their key person. Staff working with infants are sensitive and attentive to their needs. Older children show a real sense of belonging as they greet friends and staff cheerfully. • The staff have developed good links with children’s future schools. They work closely with teachers to ensure progression and continuity of learning and care. It is not yet outstanding because: • The monitoring of staff practice is not rigorous enough to identify clearly how individual members of staff can raise the quality of their practice to the highest level. • The views of parents are not fully included in the self-evaluation of the nursery. • Staff do not make the most of opportunities to encourage parents to share children’s achievements from home.
