Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Parents praise the daily exchange of information from their child’s key person and the regular suggestions to support further learning in the home environment. This helps to promote continuity in children’s care and consolidate learning. Leaders and staff work closely as a team and share the same passion and vision for the nursery. They regularly review their practice and take into consideration the views of children and families to ensure they provide quality care and education. They have clear plans for how to develop further. Children develop a good understanding of the links between healthy food and exercise. For example, they are encouraged to talk about the nutritious meals provided with catering staff who spend time talking with children about ingredients and heathy choicesChildren behave well. They learn how to share, take turns and value the views of others. Staff are positive role models for children and they provide them with meaningful praise and feedback. This is shared with parents daily and celebrated. Staff use picture prompts to help support children to develop an understanding of ’now’ and ’next’ and to support children who speak English as an additional language. It is not yet outstanding because: Occasionally, staff miss naturally occurring opportunities to support and extend children’s emerging understanding of numbers and quantities. Staff do not always allow sufficient time for children to respond and communicate.
