Summary of key findings for parents
The provision is good • Staff are qualified, knowledgeable and experienced. They make regular observations and assessments of children’s development and plan suitably challenging activities to support children’s next steps in learning. • Staff are very caring and build strong bonds with all children to support their emotional well-being effectively. Children settle quickly and are happy, confident and eager to learn. • The quality of teaching is particularly effective in developing children’s communication and language skills. All children, including those in receipt of additional funding and those who may require extra support, make good progress from their starting points. • Staff have developed strong and trusting relationships with parents. There is a consistent approach in supporting children’s care and learning. Parents receive ongoing information about their children’s learning and development. • Children behave well. Staff are good role models and support older children in learning how to respect and value the differing needs of their friends. This helps children to gain skills that prepare them well for their future learning, including their move to school. It is not yet outstanding because: • Occasionally, staff take over activities and do not provide children with enough time to think for themselves and share their own thoughts to extend their play. • The monitoring of staff performance does not sharply focus on raising the quality of teaching to the highest level.
