This provision is good Children are eager to play, explore and try out their ideas. They are engaged, happy and confident, helping them to develop a positive attitude towards future learning. Staff are sensitive and knowledgeable about children’s individual needs and family circumstances. They provide a nurturing environment and meet children’s emotional and care needs well. Partnerships with parents are strong. Communication is good to ensure that staff meet each child’s care and learning needs. Staff work effectively with parents and other early years professionals to ensure that children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities receive the additional support that they need to make good progress. The provider and manager have high expectations and accurately evaluate the provision. They use feedback from parents, staff and children to implement clear plans to drive improvements forward. For example, they are developing ways to support children’s continued learning at home. It is not yet outstanding because: At times, staff do not fully support younger children as well as they could, to join in more with activities and the group. Staff do not always extend older children’s mathematical activities further.
