Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Children enjoy a variety of activities that are well matched to their interests and complements their learning in school. Staff observe children as they play and, together with information from parents and teaching staff, use what they find out to inform their planning. Staff are good role models. They help children to develop trusting relationships and promote their emotional well-being. Children show very good behaviour. They are respectful of each other, staff and the environment. They form very strong friendships with one another and frequently help others. Managers offer parents the opportunity to visit the club with their children so they can begin to develop a bond with their key person before they start. This helps children to adjust to their new environment and to settle quickly. Children know the routine at the club. They happily arrive and place their belongings in the allocated spaces. Children are keen to choose what they would like to play with and demonstrate a sense of belonging in the club. It is not yet outstanding because: Activities and discussions that reflect the wider world and communities outside of children’s own experiences are not yet fully developed. Training for staff is largely based on essential requirements, such as first aid, and not sufficiently focused on raising the quality of practice to an even higher level.
