Summary of key findings for parents
This provision is good Children thoroughly enjoy their time at the club and are very happy and relaxed. They arrive with enthusiasm and are eager to participate in activities which are based on their interests. Children’s good health and physical development are promoted effectively. They have regular opportunities to be active outside and in the large hall. Children easily access a wide range of resources, including information and communication technology, that is based on their ages and individual interests. All activities are planned around the areas of learning. They help children to progress well and complement their learning at school. Strong partnerships with the school have a positive impact on children’s care and well-being. The staff actively share information with teachers on a daily basis to support children’s smooth transition between the host school and the club. Staff have a very caring approach and continually promote children’s emotional well-being. They consider children’s interests and capabilities, and plan activities to suit the needs of the wide age range of children attending the club. Relationships at all levels are good and children happily approach staff to support them through everyday play. Children play well together and make friendships across the age groups. Older children demonstrate caring attitudes towards younger children and are positive role models. It is not yet outstanding because: The arrangements for supervision and support of staff are not yet fully embedded to raise the quality of all staff practice to the highest level.
